On arrival, received by our representative and transfer you to the nearest hotel. Afternoon visit Paro Dzong (fortress) built in 1646, now serves as government offices and religious institutions, you will cross a traditional wooden bridge on the way to the Dzong and Visit National Museum (Ta-Dzong) just above Paro Dzong, where we have unique collections of ancient armor, textiles, Thangkha paintings. Evening free stroll around town’s to see habitants of people. Night hold will be in hotel at Paro.
Trek start with Driving up to Drukgyel Dzong (2,580m) where the road ends. After the motor road trail start downhill following Paro River (pachu) and pass through beautiful paddy and millet fields. The route later enters an area of apple orchards and forests. Soon the valley widens and you will reach the army post of Gunitsawa (2810m). This is the last stop before Tibet. We continue upwards just beyond Shana Zampa (2,870). Overnight will be in camp at Shana.
The trek continues its gradual climb alongside the Paro Chu (river) through a forested area with a few isolated farmhouses. Hot lunch will be served after crossing the bridge towards the left side of the river. Then we continuous our trek along the river, climbing upwards on a rocky trail through forests area (mostly rhododendron only) and finally crossing the river again, reached towards Bhutanese style house. Overnight will be at stone shelter in thangthagka (Altitude 3630 m).
Trail continuous upwards Pachu valley, till we reach army camp. Then follow tree line enjoying great view of high mountain ridges and snow-capped peaks. Lunch will be served at Takethang village in any one of yak herder camp (winter home of yak herdsmen). After lunch passing a Takethang village, we will reach at our campsite in Jangothang(Altitude 4070m).
The Jangothang is perfect area for acclimatize and hiking. Walk up to the view snow capped mountains
(Jhomolhari glacier and Jichu Drake) and great chance to see blue sheep on the upper slopes of the Jangothang valley. Hike to the lakes in the opposite direction. Trek to Tsophu or some others area. Overnight in Camp at Jangothang valley.
The pass different vegetation and you come across wonderful places for photography. Overnight in Camp.
You can pass over many small streams and dense forest. Some time you can see lot of different wild animals. Overnight will be in Camp.
Our transport will be waiting at Drukgyal Dzong and take us to Thimphu. It takes 1hours drive to Thimphu. Lunch will be served at Thimphu. In the evening drive to Paro. Overnight stay in Hotel.
